Long-Term Support for the Whole Family
At California Cryobank® we are honored to be a part of your family, from the very beginning. We also, however, want to be sure to support your family's long-term health and wellbeing. And we understand that there may come a time when many parents — as well as donor- conceived individuals — may have questions about their donor and extended family members. That’s why we’re offering you access to a number of valuable resources — to provide essential donor information, important updates, and the answers you may be looking for. They’re all right here, if and when you should decide the time is right.
Here are some ways we can help:
DONOR INFORMATION
We provide access to up to a dozen or more different items of information about your donor. Important information such as your donor’s Medical History, Genetic Test Summary, Profile, Essay, and Staff Impressions can always be downloaded for free once you log in to cryobank.com and go to your donor’s profile page.
Please note: Not all items are available for all donors.
DONOR KEEPSAKE
If you signed up for a Level 2 or Level 3 Donor Information Subscription, you will automatically receive a digital Donor Keepsake which includes all of your donor's available information items. These items can be downloaded from My Account – Order History after you complete a pregnancy report. If you didn't previously have a subscription, you can still order a Donor Keepsake by calling us at 866-927-9622.
COMPLETE OFFICIAL PREGNANCY AND BIRTH REPORTS
Our Genetics Department maintains information about all reported pregnancies and births of our donor recipients so that we can carefully monitor each donor’s results. We also provide you with important medical updates (regarding your donor) that we believe may be relevant to your family. Please view your Pregnancy and Birth Reports to make sure they are accurate and up to date.
GROWING YOUR FAMILY
If you know you’d like to use your donor to conceive another child — or even if you are unsure but haven’t ruled out the possibility — it’s extremely important to purchase and store vials of your donor’s sperm for the future. Doing so eliminates the risk of having to put your sibling plans on hold, or having to choose a new donor. When you purchase donor sperm vials through our Family Today/Family Tomorrow programs, you’ll receive free donor sperm storage to help you plan your future on your own timeline. CORD BLOOD ADVANTAGE PROGRAM
Did you know that California Cryobank clients based in the US are eligible for free cord blood and cord tissue processing* through our sister company, CBR? Learn more about how preserving your newborn’s stem cells today can lead to potential treatments for a growing list of medical issues.
Those based in Canada are eligible for free cord blood and cord tissue processing* through our sister company Insception.
Those based in Australia are eligible for free cord blood and cord tissue processing* through our sister company Cells Care.
DONOR CONTACT
Any donor conceived individual (age 18 or over) is welcome to reach out to us to request contact with their donor. While many of our donors are interested in contact, some are not. That is why it's important that all requests to contact a California Cryobank donor are facilitated by us. Anyone who attempts to contact a donor directly, or disregards our guidelines, risks jeopardizing this opportunity for themselves and other donor conceived individuals.
DONOR UPDATES
If you’re interested in receiving medical or personal updates on your donor, just contact us, and make your request in the area that’s provided. Please be sure to include your donor number in your request.
BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS
Many of our families have found that books can be very helpful in explaining donor reproduction to their children. Here is a list of recommended books that include some great information about the fertility journey, what it means to be a donor conceived individual, and beyond.
